Korea's Digital Nomad Visa

Korea has officially transitioned its Digital Nomad Visa into a permanent program, extending the maximum stay to three years and slashing income requirements by up to half for younger applicants and provincial residents.

According to the Ministry of Justice’s announcement today, the Digital Nomad Visa (F-1-D) has become Korea’s permanent visa program after two and a half years of pilot operations, during which over 700 visas were issued.
Below is a quick comparison of the previous requirements and the new rules for applications submitted on or after June 30, 2026:

Ages 18~34 | 1.5x GNI per capita | 1.0x GNI per capita |
Ages 35+ | 2.0x GNI per capita | 1.5x GNI per capita |
** If accompanied by a spouse or minor children and residing in the Seoul Metropolitan Area, a flat 2.0x GNI per capita applies regardless of age. For all other areas, this drops to 1.5x GNI per capita.
